Home Counties toast success at the annual SPATA industry swimming pool awards .

Some of the most innovative swimming pool companies were celebrating RECENTLY after collecting awards at the 35th annual SPATA Awards.

The Swimming Pool Allied Trade Association (SPATA) Awards were held at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel where SPATEX, the UK's largest swimming pool and hot tub exhibition, held its 14th annual trade show.

The Home Counties team won silver in the two liner pool categories , one being for an outdoor Cascade pool installed near Chichester, West Sussex and the otherfor an outdoor Endless Pool installed in Kingston Upon Thames. A bronze in the "non traditional pool" category, for another Endless Pool installed in a conservatory at a home in Hurstpierpoint, brought Home Counties haul on the night to three of these prestiguous awards.

Home Counties list of SPATA honours now includes 9 Gold Medals, 8 Silver and 1 Bronze in the last ten years, establishing them as the leading SPATA award winning company in the South East.

The awards, organised by SPATA, which represent approximately 200 specialist pool building companies across the UK, highlight the achievements of the pool industry by showcasing the best examples of construction, design, retail and innovation.

Chris Hayes, Managing Director of the British Swimming Pool Federation (BSPF), an organisation which brings together the UK bodies, including SPATA that represent the wet leisure industry said: "This year was the 35th year of the SPATA Awards and once again they proved to be more popular than previous years. The judges had a difficult job deciding who should win. There was a shortlist of 91 entries across 22 categories. "
